Curated by Yvonne Todd for Face to Face Portrait Festival, Act Natural brings together 20+ works by nine artists – many of whom ware showing at McLeavey Gallery for the first time.

Featuring work by Marie Blampain, Geoffrey Heath, Gilbert Melrose, Christina Pataialii, Meg Porteous, Cass Power, John Tiger Shen, Yvonne Todd and Susan Wiggins, the exhibition explores everyday performance – the ways in which we contort ourselves to deflect scrutiny and fly under the radar or blatantly ignore convention to embrace absurdity.

With subjects ranging from wrestlers to naturalists, homoerotic bikers and women adorned with kitchenware, the exhibition is potent and full of intrigue.
